SCISSORS at the ready . . . patriotic barber Kris Flowers
A patriotic barber is inviting servicemen past and present to have a free haircut to celebrate St George’s Day.
Kris Flowers, who runs The Barber Shop in Hollins Road, Hollinwood, says takings from the rest of his customers on Thursday will be donated to the Help for Heroes (H4H) charity which raises money for wounded soldiers.
Kris will also be accepting donations online for anyone who cannot get to his shop. The address is www. justgiving.com/barbershop.
He said: “Both my granddads were in the armed forces and I have friends who went into the Army. St George’s Day is a very patriotic occasion, so I thought this would be a good thing to do.”
Kris trained at Oldham College and has been a barber for 13 years but has only recently opened his own shop.
