Give us the good news!
Date published: 23 April 2009
Local and regional newspapers all across Britain will next month be celebrating Local Newspaper Week (May 11 to 17).
This year the theme is “Building Stronger Communities” and here at the Oldham Evening Chronicle we are looking for stories at the heart of local communities across the borough. And in these days of credit crunch and high crime, it’s the good news that we want you to tell us about.
The “Good News” project is open to all ages, from young schoolchildren to pensioners. And the topics can be as varied as you like — be it the joys of a walk in a local park, seeing the new plants coming into bloom, to the smile on a child’s face having completed something special at school. Everything that helps to build stronger local communities.
The choice is yours. Just write your story (max 300 words) and email it to editorial@oldham-chronicle.co.uk with a keyword of “GOOD NEWS”.
Submissions need to reach us by Friday, May 8. A selection will be used throughout Local Newspaper Week (May 11-17).
SO GIVE US THE GOOD NEWS!
