Fun day in memory of Emma

Date published: 27 April 2009

FAMILY and friends of tragic Emma Holt will mark the first anniversary of her death with a fund-raising event.

The bubbly and popular 21-year-old pharmacy assistant, from Lees, collapsed and died suddenly of a heart arrhythmia while visiting friends on May 28, last year.

Her father Michael lost his battle with liver cancer only eight days later.

The event at Springhead Football Club on May 30 is in aid of the British Heart Foundation. It starts at noon and will include a bouncy castle, football, magician and raffle, followed by a band and karaoke in the evening.

Charlotte Thwaite is among Emma’s friends and family who are organising the do.

She explained: “We wanted to commemorate the anniversary of Emma’s death, have something for her mum and friends to focus on and raise money for charity.”
