A WOMAN is believed to have suffered a diabetic fit before losing control of her car and smashing into two lamp posts.
Fire-fighters spent 20 minutes cutting her free from the vehicle after it overturned in Shaw Lane, Oldham — near the Go To Doc health centre — at around 5.30pm on Monday.
A two-year-old boy had already been pulled from the wreckage by a member of the public and suffered no injuries.
Chadderton fire station crew manager Jim Mulligan said: “She had a diabetic fit and weaved across the road and collided into two lamp posts before the car finished up on its side.”
The woman, believed to be aged about 30, was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital by ambulance.
She was drifting in and out of consciousness as fire-fighters worked to free her but suffered no injuries from the accident and is believed to have later made a full recovery.
The incident caused traffic problems along the busy road during rush-hour and motorists were diverted around the scene via Mortimer Street.
