PILES of products have arrived and the shelves are being stacked as Tesco staff prepare for the opening of the largest store of its kind in the North-West.
The new store opens its doors to the public on Monday, May 11. It covers 102,000sq ft over three floors, has 40 check-outs and two car parks for 880 vehicles.
The store has also provided a much-needed employment boost by creating 340 jobs, with 120 going to the long-term unemployed.
The store will open 24 hours a day Monday-Saturday and 10am-4pm Sundays. A temporary Tesco further down the road will close on May 10, to make way for a petrol station car park.
