Chance to showcase your talents

NEW Deal for Communities is looking for talented singers and dancers to perform at its prestigious Achievers’ Awards in July.

The programme is looking for people of all ages who can put on a show in front of a big audience.

The NDC’s talent scouts will be out in the area at roadshows on three consecutive Saturdays from 10am-4pm.

The first was on Saturday at Villages Housing Office on Fir Tree Avenue, Fitton Hill. On May 9, they will be at The Honeywell Centre on Ashton Road and on May 16 they will be on Dowry Street, Hathershaw.

Andy Lee will compere the event and a panel of judges will select seven finalists from each of the roadshows.

The 21 finalists will then perform at the grand final at the Honeywell Centre on June 20 and the judges will select four winners.

The four will then perform at the NDC’s prestigious Achievers’ Awards at Oldham’s Queen Elizabeth Hall.

The awards, which have been organised by the NDC in partnership with Oldham firm New Image, recognise members of the public who have made an outstanding contribution in their community.

If people think they have got what it takes, then they should complete the registration form, which was posted through doors or download it from the NDC’s website at www.oldhamndc.org.uk.

Alternatively, those interested can pick a form from Langham House, The Honeywell Centre or any community venue across the area.

Once you have registered, the NDC will allocate you a spot at one of the roadshows.
