School’s double success

TALENTED pupils at Christ Church School, Chadderton, proved top performers at the Oldham Primary Schools Choral Speaking Festival.
The school won the Madeleine Lindley Award for being best newcomers and for its special contribution to the competition.
The school entered both infant and junior pupils into the event, held at the Oldham Coliseum.
Each group had to recite a poem, with younger pupils performing “Lines and Squares” and older children reciting “Matilda”.
Music and drama teachers Helena Lloyd and Susanna Lloyd helped prepare the youngsters.
Helena said: “The children absolutely loved taking part in the event.
“They were so excited when they found out they’d won a trophy. We will be entering the competition again next year.”
