A BARDSLEY pub could be bulldozed if plans for new homes are approved.

An outline proposal has been submitted to the Oldham Planning Department to demolish the Daisyfield Inn on Keb Lane, to make way for nine homes.

Marstons brewery wants the first four homes to front on to Keb Lane and the other five properties to be sited at the back, with a new access.

The application is recommended for approval at tonight’s meeting of Oldham Planning Committee.

But it has attracted three letters of objection from near-by residents.

They say the proposed development will:

::Result in unnecessary invasion of local views.

::Lead to the loss of the pub garden, a focal point for social activities.

::Create congestion from the planned development, especially during construction.

The planning officer’s report says the majority of trees will not be affected by the proposed development.

However, officers are waiting to hear from an arboriculturalist about the impact on the existing trees, which will be reported as a late item.

The meeting takes place at the Oldham Civic Centre at 6pm.
