Treasured memories on stolen mobile
Date published: 07 May 2009
A WOMAN is devastated after her mobile phone containing a video of her late mother was stolen.
The 52-year-old was outside Oldham Market Hall, Albion Street, when her Orange phone was snatched from her pocket as she re-arranged her shopping bags.
It contained a video of the last coherent conversation she had with her mother who had terminal cancer and who she nursed until her death.
The theft happened at about 2pm on April 21, and Sgt Annette Nodwell said: “The victim is devastated. Clearly the phone contains something that means the world to her and absolutely nothing to the offender.
“We are asking him or her to imagine if they had lost something of similar sentimental value. Please, just hand the phone in to a police station.”
