Arm trap man in hospital

A FATHER-of-nine who had his arm amputated after it became trapped in machinery is recovering in hospital.
Naya Miah (49) was described as “stable and comfortable” at the Royal Oldham Hospital after his ordeal at Print Right, Roscoe Street, Oldham on Tuesday morning.
Doctors had to make the horrific decision to amputate his right arm after it became trapped in the rollers of an industrial print machine.
An emergency operation was carried out at the scene, with shocked family and colleagues present, to prevent him suffering further injury and he was rushed straight into theatre for surgery.
The Health and Safety Executive yesterday visited the site to launch a full investigation. The commercial printers may be allowed to stay open but not allowed to use the machine.
