John Lee Quinn, whose passion for motor-cycling was so strong that other members of his family took it up
THE devastated family of a 47-year-old motor-cyclist killed in an accident in Oldham have paid tribute to him.
Electrician John Lee Quinn, of Buttermere Road, Ashton, was riding his Yamaha machine in Ripponden Road when he was involved in an accident with a Renault Clio, at around 6.50pm on Tuesday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement, his family said: “John was a devoted family man. He had a large family and found time in his busy life to see them all regularly.
“Motor-cycling was his passion and this has reflected on the family, most of whom now share that passion, riding on a regular basis. He was a talented guitar player and would take quiet times out playing a variety of music.”
They added: “He enjoyed watching rugby and had taken up kickboxing for a while. John was a hard-working man, who enjoyed his work.
“He will be sadly missed by all of his family, friends and work colleagues after this tragic accident.”
l A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He has been bailed until July 13, pending further inquiries. Witnesses to the crash should call traffic police on 0161-856 8473.
