The waiting was finally over for early bird shoppers eager to check out the new Tesco Extra store in Huddersfield Road this morning.
The monster store — the biggest in the North-West — hoisted open the shutters and welcomed its first customers at 8am today.
Near-by traders celebrated after 13 months of demolition and rebuilding ended. Darren Nutter, owner of Alexander Jewellers, who has also extended his store said: “We expect big things of this. Hopefully it will bring more people here and regenerate the area.”
