rail travellers can find out more about how buses will replace trains when the Oldham line closes in October at a meeting next week.
STORM, the local rail support group, is holding its AGM at Newhey Lodge, Huddersfield Road, Newhey, on Tuesday next week.
The guest speaker will be Philip Purdy, a director of Metrolink, who will have details of the replacement buses to be provided from October 3, when the Oldham line closes for conversion to the tram system.
There will also be time for questions.
The second speaker will be Lee Wasnidge, area director of Northern Rail, the local train operating company.
He will talk about the options for local train services on the Mills Hill and Rochdale lines after the Oldham line is converted to Metrolink, and the December timetable changes to the Manchester Victoria to Rochdale and Leeds services.
STORM secretary Peter Dawson said: “Once again, our AGM provides local travellers with the opportunity to listen to and question senior managers who have the latest information about current and future rail services.”
