MATT (centre) is pictured with (from the left) Peter Snow, Shaun Fairhead, Joe Leach, Diane Fairhead, Bruce Sadler, Gail Clarke, Ross Fearns, David Taylor and Helen Taylor.
A TALENTED 12-year-old used his love of the guitar to help strum up £1,000 for the Christie at Oldham campaign.
Matt Cummings took part in a fund-raising gig at The Oddies, in Royton, along with his band, 5ft Fez, and Lincolnshire-based Jam tribute band, Jam’d. The event was jointly organised by Bruce Sadler, from The Oddies, and the Lazy Aces Scooter Club.
Matt is a junior member of the scooter club, and on the night did a solo acoustic guitar spot, then joined his fellow-band members, bass guitarist Ross Ferns (11) and drummer Joe Leach (10) later in the evening.
Matt, the band’s lead guitarist and vocalist, is a pupil of Our Lady’s School, Royton; Ross attends SS Aidan and Oswald School, Royton, and Joe is a pupil at St Herbert’s, Chadderton.
Matt’s guitar talents have also led to him supporting Bad Manners, Stiff Little Fingers and Little Man Tate.
His next appearance is supporting The Beat at Holmfirth Picturedrome on Saturday, June 6.
