SURPRISE . . . Ainsley with Marie McKenna
SHOPPER Marie McKenna got more than she bargained for when she bumped into celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott in Tesco.
The “Ready, Steady, Cook” host chatted to staff and customers when he visited the Tesco Extra store in Failsworth as part of a nationwide supermarket tour.
He then staged a version of his popular TV show cook-off when he helped staff to whip up sponges in the canteen. Store manager James Garland said: “He was a real gentleman and nothing was too much for him. He posed for any photograph and signed everything.”
