IT’S a case of role reversals for the new Mayor and Mayoress of OIdham.
Councillor Jim McArdle will be sworn in as this year’s Mayor on Wednesday with Councillor Kay Knox as Mayoress.
Just four years ago Councillor Knox was Mayor and Councillor McArdle was her consort.
Councillor Knox said: “It’s a unique situation. We feel very privileged and it’s a very special event.
“I had my year of glory and now it’s Councillor McArdle’s turn, he can do all the hard work!”
The pair will be taking over from Mayor Shoab Akhtar and Mayoress Shafeena Kausar.
