Manjula Patel: back to work at last
A 43-YEAR-OLD woman who has been unable to work for a decade because of a chronic health condition is finally back in work — thanks to Remploy.
Having endured several operations on her stomach, Manjula Patel’s ultimate goal throughout was to get a job.
After searching on the internet, Manjula (pictured above) discovered that Remploy, through its new specialist recruitment services branch on Union Street, offered exactly the kind of support she needed.
Remploy is the UK’s leading provider of services for people who experience complex barrier to employment, and with their support, Manjula, of Hollins, realised her ambition.
She works for cleaning specialists Masterclean, the company contracted to social housing provider Contour Housing.
Her role is to keep Contour’s offices and drop-in centre in Limeside clean to professional standards.
According to Contour’s deputy area manager Paul Charnock, it’s a job at which she excels.
He said: “Manjula is a great person to work with and she’s very reliable — her standards are extremely high.”
Manjula said: “Remploy helped me develop my employability skills such as learning new interview techniques, how to write a really good CV and the best way to apply for jobs.
“Equally as important as this, they boosted my confidence and helped me believe in myself.”
