THEY’RE the best in the North-West — oh yes they are —and thespians from St Herbert’s Amateur Dramatics and Entertainment Society (SHADES) are celebrating their success.
SHADES, based in Chadderton, scooped the award for staging the best pantomime in the region from the National Operatic and Drama Association (NODA).
It staged “Cinderella” in December, and beat off competition from 300 other societies to win the trophy.
It is the first time SHADES has won a NODA award, although it has been nominated before.
The team was presented with the trophy by Tony Adler, NODA area representative, during its latest production, “There Goes the Bride”, at St Herbert’s Parish Centre in Chadderton.
