The Chronicle has launched its search to find Oldham’s top dog 2009.

It’s your chance to get a treasured, professionally-taken photograph of your dog — and put yourself in the frame for £600 in cash prizes.

All you have to do to enter your dog is to take it to the Manchester Street Veterinary Surgery between Wednesday, June 10 and Sunday, June 14 (10.30am-4.30pm) to have its photograph taken in a specially set-up studio.

All owners will be given an appointment to return to the surgery on Saturday, June 20 for a glimpse of the images taken, and will be able to choose the picture to go into the special Top Dog Chronicle supplement — free! — as well as the chance to buy images, for a permanent reminder of their special friend.

Once all the pictures have been chosen, our special supplement will appear inside the Evening Chronicle on Tuesday, July 7.

In that and subsequent editions, voting forms will allow you to nominate your favourite Top Dog as many times as you like (so long as you use an original entry form, not a copy). So tell your friends and neighbours to pick up a Chron and vote for your pet!

We have great prizes for the winners: Top Dog 2009 wins its owner a £400 cash prize and a large, canvas-style framed print of their new star.

Two runners-up will each receive £100 cash.

So get your dog ready for his few minutes of fame in front of the camera.
