Lauren Walker — through to final
STUDENT Lauren Walker has made it to the prestigious Miss Dance of Great Britain finals.
Lauren, of Cathedral Road, Chadderton, has been learning contemporary dance since she was three and currently trains at the Centre Pointe Dance School in Denton.
The 17-year-old, who is studying A-levels at North Chadderton Upper School, qualified for next month’s Blackpool finals after winning the Blackburn Festival heat.
Her father Gary (48), said: “We are all so proud of her because a total of 1,500 girls tried to qualify for the final, but only 52 got through.”
The winner of the competition will receive £1,000, and past winners have gone on to star in the West End.
Lauren hopes to audition for the renowned Rambert Dance Company in London, next year.
