SECURITY bosses caught out unlicensed bouncers in spot-checks in Oldham.
Investigators from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and officers from Greater Manchester Police say they are pleased that most of Oldham’s door staff passed the weekend checks.
But three were found to be working without SIA licences — and are now subject to possible police action.
Officers visited 15 pubs and bars in Oldham last Friday night, inspecting 42 door staff of which 39 were correctly licensed.
On Saturday night they visited 14 venues, many of which had been inspected the night before.
Some door staff were warned for breaking licence conditions by not displaying their licence.
By law, all door staff must hold a valid SIA licence and display this while working.
The SIA say that overall the checks found good compliance with licensing regulations.
Head of investigation, Lucy Howland, said: “I am pleased with the results of this operation.
“But door supervisors are reminded that they must ensure that they comply with all licence conditions — including displaying the licence at all times while working.”
