ACTIVE pupils at Rushcroft Primary School helped an Oldham MP officially open their new outdoor play area.
Phil Woolas, MP for Oldham East and Saddleworth, was joined by Councillor Mari Wiswell, chairman of governors and chairman of Shaw Parish Council, when he cut the ribbon at the Shaw primary.
Youngsters spent the previous week taking part in Five Days of Fitness — a week-long activities event to promote health and fitness.
Among the various fun-filled fund-raisers was a tennis ball tumble — where pupils were sponsored to get as many tennis balls around an obstacle course as possible.
