ALL together now . . . the new deaf and disabled group meets at the Link Centre
A new youth and community group for the deaf and disabled has been set up at the Link Centre in Oldham.
The aim is to raise deaf awareness and provide a safe environment for deaf and disabled people to meet and get involved in a range of activities.
There is also a signing circle which enables people to learn basic sign language.
It meets on a Thursday every fortnight between 6.30 and 8.30pm.
Cabinet member for adult services and health, Councillor Brian Lord, said: “This is a very useful and valuable project and I am delighted that it has been set up.
“It is important that the council does all that it can to boost the opportunities available for all citizens and this is a prime example of that.”
