RAIN couldn’t dampen spirits as the election trail hit the town centre.
Oldham Euro-MP Chris Davies was joined by Simon Hughes, Shadow Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change to urge shoppers to vote for the Liberal Democrats in next week’s Euro elections.
They are pictured chatting to local resident Ghulam Issa ahead of polling which runs from 7am to 10pm next Thursday. A total of 94 candidates are fighting for eight seats in the North-West. The other parties are Labour, Conservative, BNP, UKIP, English Democrats, No2EU, Socialist Labour Party, the Greens, the Christan Party, Libertas and Jury Team, plus one independent.
Results will be announced on June 7 after Europe has voted.
