Academy in hunt for a principal

ONE of Oldham’s academy sponsors has re-advertised the job for its principal.
Edutrust failed to appoint a head for the 1,200-place academy — which will replace Grange School — when the post was originally advertised last year.
The successful candidate will earn up to £100,000-a-year and the school will open in the existing Grange buildings in September, 2010.
Pupils will then move into a state-of-the-art site in Royton in 2013 as part of Oldham’s £230 million Building Schools for the Future plans to transform secondary education.
The closing date for applications is June 22, with interviews following on June 29 and 30.
The heads of Oldham’s two other academies, which will also open next year, have already been appointed.
Kaskenmoor head teacher John Alder was given the top job at the academy run by the Christian charity Oasis, which will replace both his school and South Chadderton.
The principal of the Oldham College-sponsored academy which will replace Counthill and Breeze Hill schools will be Jackie Nellis, head at Carlton Bolling College, Bradford.
