OBJECTIONS to the use of the former Orb Mill site as the location for a new academy were repeated last night as proposals to go before the borough’s planning committee in July.
Parish councillors recommended refusal of the plans to merge Counthill and Breeze Hill schools on the Huddersfield Road spot on the grounds that it will cause massive traffic problems.
Councillor Ken Hulme said: “If we are objecting to Birk’s Quarry, partly on the grounds of all the traffic problems it will cause, then surely we must object to these for the same reason. Putting an academy here is bonkers.”
