Remembering Normandy

A SPECIAL service to mark the 65th anniversary of the Normandy invasion will be held at the Normandy Stone at Oldham war memorial, Church Street, on Sunday at 12.30pm.
The “D-Day plus one” service will be led by the vicar of Oldham, The Rev Derek Palmer. Normandy veteran Captain John Cleverley will pay tribute to those involved. Wreaths will be laid and Oldham Mayor, Councillor Jim McArdle, will attend with members of the Oldham Liaison of Ex-Service Associations.
