Polling got off to a low-key start under cloudy Oldham skies for the European elections today.
The 129 local polling stations opened at 7am and won’t close until 10pm.
Local voters are among 375 million citizens in 27 European countries voting in the five-yearly elections.
Oldham is part of the North- West constituency, where 94 candidates are fighting for eight seats in the European Parliament. Voters will have 12 parties to chose from — and one independent candidate.
But Oldhamers will have to wait until Sunday evening for the results to be declared at Manchester Town Hall.
