Are you the number one Elvis fan in town?

THE Oldham Coliseum is urging Elvis fans to put on their blue suede shoes and hot foot it down to the theatre.

It is searching for “The King of Oldham” — the number one Elvis Presley fan in the borough.

The theatre is staging the comedy “Martha, Josie and the Chinese Elvis” from June 18 in which a birthday party is transformed with the appearance of a very special guest — Timothy Wong, Elvis impersonator.

Featuring some classic Elvis music and costumes, the show really wouldn’t be complete without Elvis’s biggest fans in the audience — and that’s exactly who the theatre wants to hear from.

So if the rock’n’roll legend has got you “All Shook Up” or is “Always On My Mind” then the theatre wants you to get in touch.

The person declared the ultimate Elvis fan and crowned “The King” will win a pair of tickets to the show.

Plus they will be given the opportunity to meet the cast and chat to Nicholas Goh, who plays the Elvis impersonator, about what it’s like to be Elvis.

If you think you deserve the prize, e-mail Rachael Sneddon at rachaelsneddon@coliseum.org.uk or write to Oldham Coliseum Theatre, Fairbottom Street, Oldham OL1 3SW, explaining why you should be crowned Elvis’s biggest fan.

The two best entries will then be invited to the theatre and go head-to-head to prove that they are the King (or Queen) of Oldham.

The play runs until July 11 with tickets available from the box office on 0161-624 2829 or online at www.coliseum.org.uk.
