FIREFIGHTERS at Hollins station have a brand new state-of-the-art engine to help them deal with local emergencies.
The vehicle is one of 24 Volvo machines recently bought by Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service for £3.8 million to replace a big part of the front-line fleet.
The engine uses lightweight, non-corrosive and recyclable material to give them a longer lifespan.
It has an automatic gearbox, assisted braking, central locking for added security and more equipment storage space.
