Cash guard robbed
Date published: 10 June 2009
OLDHAM police are hunting robbers who threatened a security guard.
The guard was collecting the takings from the petrol station at Morrisons, in Tweedale Way, Chadderton at around 5.30pm on Thursday when the two men struck. As he left the shop he was confronted by the pair, both wearing ski masks, who were waving what looked like a baseball bat at him and demanding cash.
He threw the cash box at them and managed to lock himself inside his security van as the robbers ran off.
It is believed they may have got into a stolen Toyota Lucida, registration N529 END.
