Construction companies across Oldham have benefited from ConstructionSkills grants worth £22,179.
The funding aims to give them a competitive advantage and generate more business during the recession.
Over the last four months, seven Oldham-based companies have claimed ConstructionSkills grants to support training needs ranging from apprentices and NVQs, to developing their existing staff and management.
And there’s more support available for construction companies who have yet to take advantage of the ConstructionSkills scheme.
ConstructionSkills is urging companies across Oldham to contact them to discuss their requirements and to develop their training plans.
Lindsey Firestone, company development adviser for ConstructionSkills in Oldham, said: “The training and development of employees is vital, especially in today’s economic climate.
“By developing staff in line with the needs of the business, companies can ensure they are better placed to keep one step ahead of the competition.
“ConstructionSkills supports firms through business improvement programmes, which will help them to weather the current storm and come out stronger.”
