IF you thought designer dresses and vintage handbags were out of your league you could be in for a treat.
A kind-hearted fashion fan has donated a sack full of goodies, worth hundreds of pounds, to Oxfam in Yorkshire Street.
The anonymous donor left a bag containing two Karen Millen dresses, a Karen Millen silk top and two dresses by Planet and Morgan & Co.
Hidden away underneath the dresses were two vintage handbags to complete the collection.
All these items are now on sale at a fraction of the original cost.
The generous donor appears to have followed the advice of Mary Portas, from the Channel Four programme “Mary Portas Queen of Shops”, who urges viewers to think about charity shops when clearing their wardrobes of unwanted items.
The shop, including its book and music departments, has built a reputation over the years as the place to go for interesting and original goods.
Clocks made from LPs, vintage jewellery, interesting ceramics and good quality clothing for all tastes all vie for the shopper’s attention.
Manageress Gail Jackson said: “This one small bag of designer clothes will raise enough money to help provide health care and vaccinations for children in one of the many refugee camps around the world where Oxfam is working to alleviate poverty.
“I urge everyone to look in their wardrobes and cupboards for good quality items which could be sold to continue Oxfam’s valuable work.”
