Snake charms with his sax

A STAR saxophonist has been enticed back to Shaw to play another gig.
It’s just over a year since Snake Davis performed at the Playhouse 2 Theatre and, despite a busy touring schedule, he has found time to fit in a return to one of his favourite venues.
He is regarded as one of the best saxophonists in the music business today and will perform at the Newtown Street venue tomorrow.
Snake has most recently toured with soul singer and “Strictly Come Dancing” star Heather Small, from M People, and has played on hundreds of tracks for legends such as Sir Paul McCartney, Tina Turner and James Brown and current favourites Kylie, Robbie Williams and Amy Winehouse.
His manager, Sally Hare, said: “The theatre layout helps to create an intimate atmosphere, which Snake loves. He often brings his family to this venue because the staff and audience are so welcoming and it’s always a great show.
“Snake has many loyal fans in the area and we’re really pleased to be back.”
Tickets cost £12.50, call 01706-847 281 for reservations or visit www.playhouse2.com for further details.
