Man shot in street

A 37-YEAR-OLD man is in hospital after being shot in the chest in Tameside.
Staff at Tameside General Hospital called police at about 2.30am yesterday after a man went in suffering from a gunshot wound.
It is believed he was shot at in Mossley Road in Ashton-under-Lyne.
No one else was injured in the incident. The victim is in a stable condition.
Detectives are now working to establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Det Chief Insp Serena Kennedy said: “This incident could have been far more serious.
“To help us piece together what happened, we would like to hear from anyone around the Albion Trading Estate at the time of the incident who may have seen someone acting suspiciously.
“There may also have been people who saw a man walking towards the hospital along Mossley Road who was walking uneasily.”
