Family fun day in Alexandra Park
Date published: 22 June 2009

Tense excitement in the Dragon Boat race as competitors paddled furiously to make it to the finishing line.
A FREE day of family fun offered everything from sport and dance to fire-safety advice and rock n’ roll.
Saturday’s event in Alexandra Park, Oldham, was open to all families in a bid to encourage children and parents from different communities to join together.
Run by Youth Alliance, the annual fun day gave youngsters the chance to try their hand at a range of activities, from boat-racing and go-karting to tag rugby and tennis. The police, fire service, youth service, Oldham Play Action Group and Oldham libraries all ran activities, and the day was funded by Big Lottery.
