Top brass calls on cadets
Date published: 24 June 2009
Failsworth Army cadets saluted top brass when the Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, Warren Smith, paid them a visit.
He chatted to the cadets on one of their parade nights, and saw them training for campcraft, first aid and use of map and compass.
The detachment commanders, Officer Wayne Harrison and Staff Sgt instructor Jeff Millar, with Deputy Commandant, Lt-Col John Hacking, showed him around.
At the end of his visit, the Lord Lieutenant presented them with a plaque bearing the Greater Manchester crest, which will be proudly displayed.
