THE Oldham Girls Junior Choir entertain the audience
A MUSICAL extravaganza filled Queen Elizabeth Hall at this year’s Oldham Music Centre Showcase.
Groups of musicians and singers joined choirs and orchestras on stage to demonstrate their musical abilities.
A total of 23 groups performed on Monday, with talented young people aged seven to 21 entertaining an audience of around 400 people.
The youngsters were taking part in a concert every night this week, with a special finale to be held on Friday.
Martin Evans, deputy director for music in Oldham, said: “This is the 36th consecutive year we have held the event and it has gone very well.
“The showcase is getting bigger and better with a wider variety of musical genres available.”
