Saddleworth pool back in the swim

Three local dignitaries were on hand to officially open Saddleworth’s new pool and leisure centre.
The Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Jim McArdle, the chairman of Saddleworth Parish Council, Councillor Alma McInnes, and the youth mayor of Oldham, Mohammed Adil, joined in the unveiling of the official plaque, watched by Cabinet member Councillor John McCann.
The development cost over £1.5 million and was carried out by local construction firm Greenbooth.
The pool and changing rooms have been refurbished, and there is a 50-station health and fitness suite.
The under-used gravel sports pitches have been replaced with a modern, all-weather surfaces.
There is also a new entrance and free parking to encourage users.
