THE moorland hills were alive with the sound of music, as the Saddleworth’s Got Talent show got under way at Greenfield’s Boarshurst band club.
Actor and former “Stars In Your Eyes” host Matthew Kelly put the five lucky finalists through their paces as part of the judging panel alongside former world champion whistler and Dobcross local Dave Morris and local dance school owner, Gillian Kols, from Diggle.
Competition was fierce, but in the end it was singer Rachel Colley, of Gloucester Drive, Diggle, who won.
Rachel scooped £200 and will be belting out a few numbers at the Oldham Carnival this weekend.
Saddleworth School pupil Jonathan Bergin (15) came a close second with his rendition of “Pinball Wizard”. Singer Abi Bradbury and dancers Vicky Ashley and Lauren King also reached the final and were praised by judges on the night.
