Academy named Oasis
Date published: 25 June 2009
THE name of the academy which will replace Kaskenmoor and South Chadderton schools has been announced.
It will be called Oasis Academy Oldham — following the format of the other academies run by the Christian charity.
The 1,500-place academy will open in the existing school buildings next year under Oldham’s £230 million Building Schools for the future transformation of secondary education.
Pupils will then move into a new school at the former Brook Mill, Hollinwood, in 2012/13.
Oasis has appointed current Kaskenmoor head teacher John Alder as principal of the new academy.
