Power cut hits homes
Date published: 25 June 2009
UP to 500 homes in the Turf Lane area of Royton suffered a power cut yesterday caused by a fault in an underground cable.
The electricity failed at 9.05am but all the customers were back on by 10.20am after they were switched to other parts of the electrical network.
A United Utilities spokeswoman said the fault had not yet been located but it was possible it was connected to the roadworks on near-by Shaw Road.
