HEALTH-conscious youngsters at South Failsworth School raised £711 for Francis House Children’s Hospice.
They collected the money during a jam-packed week which involved making a giant fruit salad and taking part in sports activities.
Jonathon Lord, healthy schools leader, said: “The children were asked to bring in different kinds of fruit, made a enormous salad out of it and then they sold it to staff and parents in portions.
“We also held other activities including football, sports day and a mini-Olympics for the special cause.”
