Shoppers rally to the wheelchair rally

Members of Oldham Disability Arts taken part in a grand wheelchair rally to raise money for charity.
The group, which was set up to promote the arts in Oldham for disabled people, headed to the town centre and Market Square for the event.
Members donned fancy dress outfits to collect donations from shoppers, with Marian Brooks winning first prize for her English country lady outfit.
Group tutor Lol Warrell painted a picture of the Market Place which was later raffled, and an afternoon tea was held at the Link Centre.
More than £1,000 was raised and will be used to provide arts equipment and help run the Handyride Cares which provides accessible transport for disabled people.
Myra Wyers, chair, said: “It was a great success and the public was fantastic.”
