Officers on the move

TRADING Standards and Licensing staff will move out of North House in Rochdale Road when the final improvements are finished at the Derker VIP centre.

The service will move to Derker once the centre has a new front, internal changes and a public entrance.

The VIP centre also houses the control room for the council’s security services, and a control room upgrade has already been carried out.

A £191,000 tender has just been awarded to Jackson, Jackson and Sons for the work, and once North House is empty it will be sold and the land used for housing.
