PLATINUM award-winning singer/ songwriter Magnet Man will be one of many headline acts at this weekend’s Oldham Carnival.

The international star, who was one of the main draws last year, will thrill crowds with mid-afternoon performances on the big stage at Alexandra Park on both days.

Another solo act flying in directly from Barbados is jazz artist and guitarist Michael Cheeseman who will take centre stage on Sunday afternoon.

And the UK’s finest R’n’B group “3 Flow” will make an appearance for the first time.

The Manchester-based trio, who have supported hip-hop star and rapper Busta Rhymes, will perform their latest single “If”, from their much anticipated debut album on Sunday afternoon.

The event has been given the new name of the People’s Carnival, but as usual there’ll be lots for families to enjoy. This year’s carnival parade starts at noon tomorrow and leaves from Kings Road. It will make its way up Park Road to the roundabout and turn left down Ashton Road. The parade will then go left on to Honeywell Lane, over the bridge and arrive back at the park gates.

The carnival takes place until 7pm tomorrow and 1pm-6pm on Sunday.
