AN 88-year-old woman was led to safety after a house fire which spread to two further properties in Werneth.
Twenty-five firefighters from Chadderton, Hollins and Oldham battled for an hour to bring the huge blaze on Ross Street under control at around 2.15am today.
A fire service spokesman said: “The cause of the fire is under investigation.
“Two of the properties were being renovated so were unoccupied but the third house had people inside who managed to get out before we got there.”
