Attractions galore

SHAW and Crompton residents are gearing up for a host of entertainment during the upcoming Family Weekend.
The parish council event takes place on the Market Place car park on Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5.
A fun fair will be in place on both days, while on the Saturday, Crompton and Royton Rotary Club will be running two stalls and there will be a Farmer’s Market. On Market Street there will be rock climbing, train rides and a scooter club. Madd For Dance will also be giving a dance demonstration at 2pm.
On Sunday, the classic vehicle rally returns to Market Street, while the Oldham Scottish Pipe Band will be playing.
On the Market Place from 11am to 3pm will be the usual charity market involving over 20 stalls from various charities.
