THE family of a Shaw woman are appealing for her long- lost children to contact them.
Elsie Walker was born Elsie Stephenson but her surname changed to Garside when she was adopted.
She was born in Crompton in 1908, lived in Goats, Shaw, and had six children.
However, since her death in February, 1981, her family has discovered she gave birth to another seven children at what is now the Royal Oldham Hospital between 1932 and 1939.
They are now appealing for those seven, who they believe could have been adopted, to come forward and make contact.
They are Frank, born July 19, 1932; Gordon, born July 6, 1933; Renee, born July 28, 1934; Jack, born December 3, 1935; Derek, born April 9, 1937; Sheila, born April 12, 1938; and Terence, born May 22, 1939.
Val Bebb, her daughter, said: “We began researching our family tree after our mother died and discovered all these siblings.
“We would love to make contact with them all.”
Anyone with information should call Val on 01706-670 092 or Audrey Riley on 07876-372 874.
