ALL smiles . . . Shaw beavers with members of Blue Watch at Lees Fire Station
BUDDING firefighters from the 12th Shaw Beavers experienced a day in the life of a fire crew during a tour round Lees Fire Station.
The boys, aged between six and eight, met firemen from Blue Watch before listening to a safety presentation from watch commander Duncan Millington and crew commanders Andy Flynn and Bill Biles. They then identified potential fire hazards with the crew, took a tour of the station and explored the fire engines. A lucky few even put their firefighting skills to the test by manning the hose in the yard. New member Ross Delaney (7) took the opportunity to be invested in the beavers and made his promise at the fire station. The beavers is open to boys and girls. Anyone interested in joining should call 01706-882 636.
